Common App Essay Coaching
$250/1 hour 45 minute session — Students can apply to over 800 universities and colleges through the Common App. While universities may require additional statements, resumes and supplemental essays, most require at least the core 650 word essay. This may be the most significant insight into a collegiate candidate’s thoughts, writing ability, and personality; it can set students apart. Essay brought to this session must have been teacher reviewed at least once. Counseling session includes discussion about what the candidate wants to present to the selection committee, review, and editing of essay.
Supplemental essay and application strategy
$125 per 1 hour 30 minute session— Many universities require supplemental essays as part of their application, for consideration into an Honors or Scholars program, and for scholarships. These sessions focus on understanding which selected universities require what, when deliverables are due, or when and how to look for invitations to additional scholarship opportunities. Sessions may include discussions around approach to supplemental essays and may include ideation and editing. Review of these essays do not require a teacher assessment.
College Selection Consulting
$125 per 1 hour 30 minute session — The majority of students apply to between 8-9 universities. That is an overwhelming number for many, and for others ensures a robust selection of in-reach and stretch schools. These sessions help guide collegiate candataes towards a balanced portfolio of options.
Resume
$100 — Resumes are often required for selective programs and as part of scholarship application processes. Resumes may even be required if your child decides to rush for a fraternity or sorority. This session results in a professional snapshot of the collegiate candidates education, work, volunteer, athletic, and leadership activities. A well done resume can set one candidate apart from others.
Sophomore/Junior retainer
$125/year— It is harder to build a resume or a story if you don’t start until senior year. The retainer ensures one call quarterly to the student to check in on grades, discuss resume building activities, and aspirations. There will also be one call per semester to start planning with parents. For the students, it is a nudge to help them mindfully work to set themselves up optimally to reach their target collegiate admissions goals. For the parents, it is a chance to discuss campus tours, goals, understand how to have the financial discussions with children. It is a place to ask any number of questions or address anxieties that can come along with this process.
